Terms of service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HumDocs website, products, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and account responsibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You are responsible for all activity under your account, credentials, and devices. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your contact details current.
2. License and permitted use
Subject to these Terms and any applicable purchase terms, HumDocs grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for lawful and authorized purposes.
3. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- engage in academic dishonesty, plagiarism, or exam misconduct;
- evade school, employer, platform, or legal policies;
- impersonate others or submit work that is not your own;
- violate applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights;
- reverse engineer, abuse, disrupt, or interfere with the Service.
We may suspend or terminate access for suspected violations of this section, with or without notice.
4. Payments, billing, and refunds
Paid features, licenses, and digital goods are billed as shown at checkout. All prices are shown in the stated currency and may exclude taxes. Refund requests are reviewed case by case unless otherwise required by law. Chargebacks or payment fraud may result in account suspension.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including software, branding, design, and content (excluding your submitted content), is owned by HumDocs and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, or distribute the Service except as expressly permitted.
6. User content and feedback
You retain rights to content you create. You grant HumDocs a limited license to process that content only as needed to provide the Service. If you submit feedback, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or compensation.
7. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. We are not liable for downtime, interruptions, or incompatibilities caused by third-party platforms, browsers, or provider outages.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HumDocs and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from or related to your use of the Service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HumDocs from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if needed to protect users, third parties, or the Service.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which HumDocs operates, excluding conflict-of-law principles. Venue for disputes will be in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms are effective when posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
