Yes. Every new install gets 7 days of Pro, with no card. After that you keep the free plan unless you buy Pro.

Deadline mode, runs of any length up to 3 hours, starting at a set time, a queue of Docs, continuing a run after the Doc was reloaded, scheduled breaks, importing .txt and .docx files, the reference card, the end-of-run summary, and your own saved styles. The free plan keeps every typing control for runs of up to 1,500 characters and 10 minutes.

Typing pauses, and picks up where it left off when you come back. There is a free experimental setting that keeps typing while the tab is hidden, off unless you turn it on. Chrome slows timers right down in background tabs, so without this a long run would fall behind and then rush to catch up, which is the opposite of what you want in a document’s history. Keep the Doc tab open and visible while a run is going. You can close the extension popup; only the tab needs to stay.
It waits for you. HumDocs never types late or into a Doc that changed; it shows why in the Doc and on the toolbar icon, and you press Start now.
Those are save pauses. Stopping long enough for Google Docs to save leaves regular checkpoints in version history that you can go back to. You can make them rarer or more frequent in the extension.
No. The extension types your text straight into the Doc from your own browser, and your text is never sent to us or to any other service. It only goes into the Google Doc you choose. It does talk to our server about licensing twice: once to start your free trial, and to check a license key. Those send a random id for this install, and the key check also sends the key. Nothing else.
